HOLIDAY HOURS: The Bookmark is OPEN every day this spring except for Memorial Day (closed Monday, May 25).
DONATIONS: We will resume accepting material donations Jan 23 (12-4PM) and will pause again Feb 20-21 to focus on our MONTHLY SALE (Feb 21-22).
Please see our donation policy for more info. We accept like-new and gently used items Fridays and Saturdays 12-4PM on NON-SALE WEEKENDS ONLY.
Who We Are
The Friends of the Oakland Public Library exists to support the Oakland Public Library and the broader Oakland community.
In addition to a Main Library, OPL has 16 branches, a Second Start Adult Literacy Program, the Oakland Tool Lending Library, and the African-American Museum and Library at Oakland (AAMLO).
With funds raised through memberships, donations, and proceeds from our Old Oakland bookstore, The Bookmark, Friends of the OPL provides grants to OPL.
