Banned Books Week, Grand Opening Celebration, Fall Member Sale, and more!
Fall into the Bookmark this season as we observe Banned Books Week (September 22-28) and commemorate the store's move with an official Grand Opening on Saturday, September 28 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Our celebration will feature inspirational speakers, delicious treats, a retro video game station, a children's book giveaway, library card sign-ups, a life-size love letter to OPL, and a silent auction with eye-catching packages from local organizations.
This October, don't miss our free children's book giveaway on Sunday, October 13 (every second Sunday of the month), followed by our Fall Sale (October 19-20). On Saturday, October 19, all current Friends of the Oakland Public Library Members receive 50% off in-store purchases (50% for all customers on Sunday, October 20).
We're thrilled to continue welcoming folks to our beautiful new location at 933 Broadway in Old Oakland, where every purchase supports the Oakland Public Library.
